The Windcheetah tricycle reduces the aerodynamic drag by decreasing the frontal area of the bike/rider system. The penalty for this design is the weight of the extra wheel and the increased rolling resistance of three wheels as compared to two. Rolling resistance is also wheel diameter dependent, and the small front wheels each have a larger rolling resistance than the larger rear wheel. |
