            Prelude for strings

             Senior Jonathan Vinocour,
a chemistry major from Rochester, New York, plays his viola in the
lobby of Richardson Auditorium after a November 30 concert with
the Richardson Chamber Players, which is made up primarily of instrumental-performance-teaching
faculty members. Vinocour, who has been playing the viola since
he was 10, has traveled around the country and the world playing
with orchestras and chamber groups at music festivals. He hopes
to go to music school next year, though he worries that "maybe it's
bad luck to say something like that, having no idea how it will
              work out."
