“In the spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts
of love,” wrote Alfred, Lord Tennyson. That spring-is-in-the-air
feeling is captured in this photo of two couples walking across campus
in 1969. Female students on campus would become a familiar sight in the
fall of ’69, when coeducation began at Princeton. Can any readers
identify these students — or find a pair of those old white knee
socks lurking in their own closets?
