Princeton’s distinguished buildings and picturesque surroundings provided excellent backdrops for filmmaking long before Russell Crowe (John Nash *50 in A Beautiful Mind) and Walter Matthau (Einstein in IQ) arrived on campus. In this 1948 photo, an RKO film short titled A Letter to a Rebel — This Is America is being shot in Chancellor Green. Perhaps the film was the breakout role for the students pictured here.
