The Rhodes Scholarship Trust announced December 9, 2001, its selection of 32 students as Rhodes Scholars from the United States for 2002. The recipients of scholarships for two or three years of study at Oxford University in England were chosen from among 925 applicants representing 319 colleges and universities.
