A letter from a reader about A better word choice In the May 10 table of contents, the summary of the article about the Woodrow Wilson School entitled “A Changing View” has Dean Slaughter ’80 trying “to reach out to a disinterested public and steer students toward government.” Especially since we expect yythem occasionally to vote their opinions, I’m quite sure you folks didn’t mean that the public was “disinterested” (meaning they’re objective and neutral), but rather “uninterested” (meaning they don’t care).
