Property Measurement
· Property measurements are made on material samples that may be destroyed, or on an actual component using non-destructive testing techniques.
· A destructive tests that gives mechanical property information is the constant strain-rate stress-strain tensile (compressive) test.

· The apparatus shown above is used to make mechanical property measurements and uses samples of accepted ASTM geometry.
