Diffusion

· Powder compaction to a green product is done using a press that may have one or more moving punches.
· The diagram illustrates the density of the powder particles before and after compaction with a single punch (top) or double punch press. It is seen that more uniform density can be achieved if the different sections are compressed by their own punch.
